Not necessarily. It might be “gay” in the slangier sense of the word, but that’s too subjective to say for sure. If you’re just a random person randomly daydreaming about him, I’d say it’s probably gay to me. But if, for example, you’re a former romantic partner of his, like an ex-wife, and you’re daydreaming about him because you miss him, I’d say it’s probably not gay to me. That takes us to the more literal, or objective, sense of the word, meaning homosexual. I don’t think it could be “gay” in that sense unless you’re a male and the daydream has a sexual or romantic theme, factors that would have to be assumed in order to be included in the title question.
