You’d think this Energy Drink is supposed to taste like Blueberries, but the flavor is actually a blend of Blue raspberry and vanilla. That, not the fact that it’s based on one of my favorite Nintendo game series, is why it tastes more pleasant than expected. Drink it Slushee from the freezer for the full effect.

This Energy Drink is supposed to taste like Peach Rings candy; what Sonic The Hedgehog has to do with the flavor is anyone’s guess; but it tastes more like a Peach cocktail. That, for those of us who dislike the bitter taste of alcohol, isn’t a good thing. It’s not quite as bad as Big Game Peach Passion, but it’s bad.

G Fuel Energy Drink : Power Pellet [ Cherry Lollipop ]

This “limited edition” G Fuel Energy Drink is based on Pac-Man, specifically the Power Pellets and Cherries he’s known to devour. The fact that it’s cherry flavored is, of course, fitting, but the Lollipop bit is confusing as the candy has nothing to do with the game. There are 140 milligrams of caffeine per can.

They shouldn’t have changed the style of the chorus at the end and Dres should’ve followed Posdnuos/Trugoy’s flow/echoes in his verse. Otherwise everything about this song, from host Mike G’s introduction to the random shoutouts at the end, is just right. Kudos to Prince Paul for the funky beat and quirky “ball” samples.

audio review : The Contract ( EP ) ... Dr Dre

“I see the way the game played,” Dr Dre declares at one point. If that’s a subliminal reference to the concept of this EP; a soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto; his penmen are more clever than they seem. This is, on paper, a random set of new Dre songs; a rarity these days, like the renowned producer making a beat on his own.

These six songs are co-produced; if not, as I suspect, solely produced; by different people. That, along with the fact that Dre, like dinnermate Puffy, is known to Contract ghostwriters, makes this EP his in the loosest sense. That it sounds more like Compton than another dose of the Chronic is more or less a sign of the times.

C4 Performance Energy : Frozen Bombsicle

The name suggests this should be served chilled from the freezer on a hot summer day, which is how I prefer my Energy drinks, but that would be hard to do on a court or field. C4 is subtly promoted as a sports beverage for “superhuman Performance”, though that could also apply to sex. The taste is par for the course; sweet and Pez-like with a slight sting.
