The Missionary cover is better, though it should’ve been another Joe Cool comic to complement the theme of the original, and perhaps the lyrics. Doggystyle smashes it in every other way, especially when it comes to the beats. Snoop can still get it up after all those years, in other words, but Dr Dre has gone limp. The polished contemporary vibe of Missionary is unsatisfying compared to the banger basslines of the G-funk era.
