John Putt :

“You have to learn to believe.”
One doesn’t learn to believe. The process of learning is one of analysis of known, demonstrable fact followed by forming hyotheses and testing them for repetition. Religious believers, in the absence of evidence, insist that one must have faith in order to believe. This is the very antithesis to logical, rational analysis. If an hypothesis is fixed in advance (Faith), then the inquiry becomes about defending it rather than evaluating it against reality.

Carlton Coleman :

The mental gymnastics you have to play when defending a god is enough reason not to believe a god exists.
