video review : Karol Rosa versus Luana Santos at UFC Fight Night

video review : Karol Rosa versus Luana Santos at UFC Fight Night

I’d love to trade places with Karol Rosa during the second round of this bout as Luana Santos; one of the cutest girls to ever step foot in the Octagon; lies on top of her, “chest to chest” and groin to groin, for most of it. There doesn’t seem to be a moment, in fact, in which Santos isn’t winning the fight. Rosa seems content to get dominated and who could blame her?

video review : Alexia Thainara versus Bruna Brasil at UFC Fight Night

Alexia Thainara gets her revenge on Bruna Brasil in this UFC Fight Night prelim opener, speaking of which includes “the old can opener”; one of several moves Burguesinha utilizes to control her opponent. Brasil does land a nice spinning back kick to the face near the end of the bout, but it’s not enough. She loses this rematch via unanimous decision.

video review : Shanelle Dyer versus Ravena Oliveira at UFC Fight Night

video review : Shanelle Dyer versus Ravena Oliveira at UFC Fight Night

Ravena Oliveira dances to the Octagon and shouts, in response to Bruce Buffer’s intro, “I am here!” Little did she know she was “here” to get her ass beat. The fight is actually competitive until the second round when she catches a straight right that puts her on wobbly legs. That’s when she turns into Rich Franklin and Shanelle Dyer; Anderson Silva; finishes her with “vicious knees” via Thai clinch.

video review : Anderson Silva versus Tyron Woodley at Jake Versus Joshua

video review : Anderson Silva versus Tyron Woodley at Jake Versus Joshua

“It might not look like much is happening,” David Haye says during the uneventful first round, “but all of a sudden a shot will land and Woodley will go down.” That’s exactly what happens in round 2. It’s an odd knockout though as the ref waits till Woodley gets up and resets to stop it. Anderson Silva should also stop here, but his Chris Weidman callout would make for a more appropriate career ender.

video review : Viviane Araújo versus Tracy Cortez at UFC 317

video review : Viviane Araújo versus Tracy Cortez at UFC 317

“Both of these women are dry,” Joe Rogan observes early in Round 1, “They’re not soaked in sweat yet.” By the end, as Tracy Cortez is dominating (“riding”) her opponent on the mat, her back is indeed sweaty and it’s a sexy sight to behold. Not that the fight itself is uneventful. It’s just not particularly competitive. Cortez wins decisively.
