audio review : Book Of Ryan ( album ) ... Royce Da 5-9

While an early Eminem feature stands as a major highlight; Royce Da 5-9 rarely outshines his Bad Meets Evil partner; the album’s magnum opus is a Christmas narrative entitled Power and Royce seems to know it. It’s the only song allowed to go long as the rapper sings the title bit like a career crooner.

The rest of the Book follows the same theme; Royce reminiscing à la Masta Ace on his last two albums; but he’s best when free to rap without conceptual restrictions. He’s worst when he’s just talking, as on the Skits, because his bravado gets annoying when it isn’t encased in clever rhyme schemes.

video review : Creepshow 2

This show is better than the first. The Old Chief bit is dumb, but The Raft; a cross between The Blob, Jaws and Cujo; is interesting. It has four partiers stranded in a lake at the mercy of killer slime.

The best story is the final one, about a woman who accidentally kills a Hitchhiker on her way home from having sex with someone other than her husband. It’s the one tale that is truly Creepy.

Eat That Frog [ 21 Great Ways To Stop Procrastinating And Get More Done In Less Time ] ( book ) ... Brian Tracy

This is a book that can; and if you take its advice, almost certainly will; permanently change your life for the better. It could literally mean the difference between achieving your biggest goals relatively soon and never achieving them. What self-help guru Brian Tracy presents with a silly frog analogy is just what the subtitle says; 21 Great Ways To Stop Procrastinating And Get More Done In Less Time.

Okay, they may not all be great; the word “Great” should have been omitted from the title; but they are certainly good enough to get your life going in the right direction. The catch is that, unless perhaps you happen to know him personally, Brian Tracy won’t be there with you to make sure you continue to Eat That Frog after the initial burst of inspiration you get from reading it. Bummer.
