You don’t find truth with your heart. You find truth with your brain.

I stumbled across this video because TrustinJC commented and I’m subscribed to him (Hi Laverne)

My wife is a Christian, in fact she was a qualified Sunday school teacher, responsible for teaching scripture to many of the kids in our neighbourhood. He Mother is in the Church Choir, he father is a lay preacher and the Church treasurer. Her sister is on the Church council.
I am an atheist – I was raised thus by atheists parents.

We have been happily married for 20 years.

Just sayin’…

Roxanne Roxanne :

She’s right. A relationship with God is the major foundation in a Christian’s life. It determines lifestyle, moral code, how to treat others, goals, and ultimately how you’ll raise your children. You can’t pursue a serious relationship when you differ on such major issues. Would the person accept a relationship where they can’t have sex before marriage. What about keeping the Sabbath? What’s their stance on divorce? Would they be comfortable raising their children in the church?

If your a person who loves to go clubbing on a Friday night, is sexually active, doesn’t like going to church or the thought of having your children raised on the bible why would you WANT a relationship with a Christian? Both parties would be equally miserable. The non-Christian would wonder “Why have I chosen this incredibly boring person who won’t have any fun with me!” while the Christian would have a partner who won’t take part in or share experiences that are important to them.

Isn’t that part of what being in a relationship is all about? Being able to share your experiences with each other?

Lavern Gooding :

It’s called being equally yoked. And scripture tells we are to be equally yoked. Being unequally yoked may lead to our ultimate destruction.
How could someone who places God above all else marry someone who does not believe in God?
It makes no sense.
