This story should’ve taken place 28 Months Later to leave room for the sequel it so blatantly sets up at the end. Not that it matters much. 28 Days Later is a good horror flick that, like most, should’ve been left alone. These sequels simply aren’t up to par.
The plot, like its characters, runs away from the zombies it’s supposed to be about. They’re a conceptual underlining to what has become, even more so than before, a kindred love story. The peak, when the action should be in high gear, is slow and soppy.

This is Michael Jackson at his most grandiose, appropriately enough considering it’s the title song to the most grandiose album in History. The concept, which pays homage to innovators and icons like Thomas Edison and Muhammad Ali, is both an anthem “for mankind” and a time capsule of sorts. Among all the samples and bits, of course, there’s a song and it’s another good one, which only adds to the legacy of Jackson himself.

This episode doesn’t get interesting until about a third in when a white CPR class attendant drops a verbal bombshell in response to being asked to practice on the dummy Louise just put her (“nigger”) lips on. The KKK is a contentious subject for a sitcom and the dialogue gets preachy on both sides, but George Jefferson’s eventual involvement creates not only an element of suspense but the main source of entertainment.

Honeydew is sweet and suspenseful, well on its way to being a good horror movie, for about the first half hour. That’s when you start to realize too much time is going by without anything (significant) happening. From there it’s a mundane affair as couple Riley and Sam get served by a crazy hag named Karen and her scrawny dining partner.
