Pink Stork Probiotic Gummies

Pink Stork Probiotic Gummies

These Gummies are made “for women”, specifically new birth mothers, which at least partly validates the otherwise obnoxious Women Owned label on the side of the jar. The same can’t be said about the product being “prayed over”, but at least the taste makes sense. It’s sweetened with maltitol and isomalt. Bacillus coagulans is the Probiotic of choice.

video review : MH370 [ The Plane That Disappeared ]

video review : MH370 [ The Plane That Disappeared ]

This three-part Netflix “series” would be better edited down to one. Too much time is spent on psychotherapy sessions with family members of the presumably dead passengers and hunch theories instead of just focusing on what most likely happened to The Plane. MH370 is the new Titanic and it’s a captivating mystery, but this narratorless documentary, while technically well-made, ultimately loses its way.

audio review : WAWG [ We All We Got ] ( album ) … Tha Dogg Pound

We All We Got would’ve sufficed. The WAWG abbreviation is tacky and redundant. The album makes more sense musically; the Intro is vintage Death Row; though it doesn’t get particularly interesting till “the last record” when Snoop leaves LA for New York City. Who Da Hardest, he asks over a DJ Premier beat. Tha Dogg Pound reply with guests RBX and The Lady Of Rage as you wish the whole album sounded like this.

G Fuel Energy Drink : Power Pellet [ Cherry Lollipop ]

G Fuel Energy Drink : Power Pellet [ Cherry Lollipop ]

This “limited edition” G Fuel Energy Drink is based on Pac-Man, specifically the Power Pellets and Cherries he’s known to devour. The fact that it’s cherry flavored is, of course, fitting, but the Lollipop bit is confusing as the candy has nothing to do with the game. There are 140 milligrams of caffeine per can.

Bang : Cotton Candy

Bang : Cotton Candy

They should’ve just called this one Marshmallow because the flavor is more like marshmallows, albeit the chemical tasting ones you might find in a free Easter basket, than Cotton Candy. That makes for somewhat of a disappointment for those of us expecting a taste of the namesake treat.

Ghost Energy : Orange Cream

Ghost Energy : Orange Cream

This Ghost is based on those Orange Cream bars you probably enjoyed as a kid. It also tastes like one. It’s not as good though because it’s hard, probably impossible, to match the texture of ice cream; the best part; in an Energy drink. The can claims “no artificial flavors”, suspiciously enough, yet it’s listed on the ingredients list.

audio review : Platinum OG 2 ( album ) … Spice 1

audio review : Platinum OG 2 ( album ) ... Spice 1

I don’t know what made Spice 1 think his Platinum OG album warranted a sequel, but the title is the least of its oddities. More baffling is the decision to put a random photo of 2Pac on the cover and invite a slew of guest rappers; every song has at least one; when the concept is about his own legacy.

That last bit is the worst thing about this project as Sway Calloway interrupts the playlist with a total of five Talks. He commemorates Spice 1 as if attending his funeral, but the interludes are out of place and only serve to annoy. The best songs include Come Out With Me, Not Easy and Real G’s.

audio review : a DM Records compilation : Bass Overload

audio review : a DM Records compilation : Bass Overload

This compilation, a DM Records album sampler of sorts, starts with two good songs. Bass 305’s Return, with its pretty pianos and Indian chants, brings about a sense of grace and placidity. Underground Bass Masters follow with a groove that sounds even better; the title cut from their newest album.

There are actually three UBM songs here and they’re all good. The set is mostly lackluster otherwise. I like Subsonic Love, but Operating System is nonfunctional and What Is A DJ should be removed from the playlist. Bass Alliance is missing in action, but their album title makes an odd appearance.

audio review : We Don’t Trust You ( album ) … Future + Metro Boomin

audio review : We Don't Trust You ( album ) ... Future + Metro Boomin

Metro’s track record suggests you can Trust him to provide a Boomin beat. This album, which would’ve been better suited as a mixtape, is no exception. His music, though too many of the drums and trap ticks sound alike, are the best part. Whether Future’s semi-retarded vocals help or hurt matters is the question for any given song, though it’s guest rapper Kendrick Lamar who’s most annoying.

Chiki Tropical Water : Strawberry And Lemon

Chiki Tropical Water : Strawberry And Lemon

As impressive as the ingredients list may be; it includes flowers and the word “organic” appears ten times; plain water is healthier. Is it tastier? I guess that depends. Strawberry is one of the best fruits in that regards, but Lemon leaves a lot to be desired. Not that the flavor is akin to either. This tastes like sweet tea to me.

Reign Inferno : Watermelon Warlord

Reign Inferno : Watermelon Warlord

They should’ve called this one Strawberry Bubblegum. That’s what the flavor, which tastes artificial though the can, while admitting there’s “0% juice”, insists it isn’t, brings to mind. I can’t detect any Watermelon. Perhaps the Warlord is having an identity crisis. There is, however, a whopping 300 milligrams of “natural” caffeine.
