Sounding more like a collection of song demos than album number seventeen, Get Off The Stage will have you yelling just that. Too Short has never sounded so uninspired and the beats are basic, but the worst parts by far are the lame-ass hooks. Dum Ditty Dum is downright awful.

I like I Like It; it’s the one good song on the album; and I’m glad Short Dogg came out of retirement when he did to drop some more game on us, but, if it’s gotten to the point where he’s putting out shit like this, it’s time to take his own advice and get the fuck Off The Stage for good.

What’s odd about this project, other than what sounds like an old (2002) E-40 verse on Triple Gold, is that it has two separate titles; one for each rapper; which makes it two separate albums à la Outkast’s Speakerboxxx slash The Love Below. They do go well together; ten songs each and all; but E-40’s half is better.

Tricks, about “lames” who let undeserving hoes take advantage of their money, is one of the best songs on the whole set, mainly due to the wise decision to enhance what would’ve been another weak hook with monologues by the legendary Pimpin Ken. I Stay Up, a Zyah Belle song from Too Short’s half, is another highlight.

Still Blowin ( mixtape ) ... Too Short

This is only a mixtape because Too Short says so. Sloppy production and spotty mastering aside, it sounds more like an official album to me. Either way it’s better than his previous, Get Off The Stage, which isn’t saying much.

He’s Still Blowin and still pimping, so he’s best when checking his Hoes. Listen and laugh at him telling a “bitch” to rub his back, suck his dick and cook his breakfast. Other highlights include All For Love and International Player.
