Cheetos : Crunchy

Cheetos : Crunchy

When it comes to snacks, Cheetos are a tasty alternative to Doritos. The question is whether this original Crunchy version is better than the Puffs. If so, it probably has something to do with the comparatively dense texture and shape, which to me brings to mind Bamm-Bamm Rubble’s club, and cheesier coating.

Berry Pebbles

Berry Pebbles

The only complaint I have about this cereal is the name. It’s supposed to serve as an alternative to Fruity Pebbles, but Berries are fruits, so it doesn’t really make sense. It does indeed have a “berry flavor”; the taste and look are reminiscent of Smurf-Berry Crunch; and it is good. Better than the original? Perhaps.

Van Leeuwen French Ice Cream : Salted Chocolate Truffle

Van Leeuwen French Ice Cream : Salted Chocolate Truffle

“There’s brown sugar Ice Cream”, the carton reads, “but also these little Salted Chocolate Truffles with caramel inside.” Those candy bits are the best parts. Also included are “swirls of rich fudge.” It’s a sweet treat overall and among the better Ice Creams Van Leeuwen has to offer.

DiGiorno Rising Crust Pizza : Supreme

DiGiorno Rising Crust Pizza : Supreme

This pizza is heavier than most frozen ones you get from the grocery store. It’s also among the best, slightly tastier than even the Freschetta Kitchen Fresh Supreme. The best way to eat it, and pizza in general, is Crust first, saving the yummy middle for last, all while laughing at the 6 portion bit on the back of the box.

Dr Bombay Ice Cream : Bonus Track Brownie

Dr Bombay Ice Cream : Bonus Track Brownie

The Bonus Track bit hints at the fact that this Ice Cream was, like Selena Gomez’s Cookies And Cream Remix, conceptualized by a song artist. Putting Brownies “and a thick fudge swirl” in vanilla ice cream isn’t particularly innovative, but it tastes damn good. Besides, knowing Snoop Dogg, it’s what’s in the Brownies you have to be wary of.

Freschetta Kitchen Fresh Pizza [ Naturally Rising Crust ] : Supreme

Freschetta Kitchen Fresh Pizza [ Naturally Rising Crust ] : Supreme

If this Freschetta Supreme pizza, with its colorful peppers and onions; not to mention bits of sausage; tastes any better than plain Pepperoni, I eat too fast to tell. They’re both about as good as frozen; the Fresh bit is somewhat of a misnomer; pizza gets, especially when you eat the crust first and save the yummy middle for last as I like to do.

Pink Stork Probiotic Gummies

Pink Stork Probiotic Gummies

These Gummies are made “for women”, specifically new birth mothers, which at least partly validates the otherwise obnoxious Women Owned label on the side of the jar. The same can’t be said about the product being “prayed over”, but at least the taste makes sense. It’s sweetened with maltitol and isomalt. Bacillus coagulans is the Probiotic of choice.

G Fuel Energy Drink : Power Pellet [ Cherry Lollipop ]

G Fuel Energy Drink : Power Pellet [ Cherry Lollipop ]

This “limited edition” G Fuel Energy Drink is based on Pac-Man, specifically the Power Pellets and Cherries he’s known to devour. The fact that it’s cherry flavored is, of course, fitting, but the Lollipop bit is confusing as the candy has nothing to do with the game. There are 140 milligrams of caffeine per can.

Masta Ace’s Other Side Of Town or LL Cool J’s Cheesy Rat Blues : Which song is better?

Masta Ace's Other Side Of Town or LL Cool J's Cheesy Rat Blues : Which song is better? Masta Ace's Other Side Of Town or LL Cool J's Cheesy Rat Blues : Which song is better?

These are songs by, at least in the case of LL Cool J, rich men portraying the role of bums. LL plays himself gone broke; he has the Cheesy Rat Blues; while Masta Ace simply goes by the name of Joe; a student slash panhandler from The Other Side Of Town. Both songs were released in 1990. Both are produced by Marley Marl. That means he made the music.

The beats are damn funky, but Town’s, with its splendid bassline and organ breaks, sounds a little better to my ears. Masta Ace’s raps are also more poignant and better composed technically, but LL Cool J is funnier and thus more entertaining, especially during the second half. His “back of the bus”, “who this” and “know how to get busy” lines are classic.
