video review : Twisters

This isn’t really a Twister sequel; more of a conceptual remake. The plot revolves (ferociously) around a storm chaser/tracker named Kate. She’s eventually saving the day while her two leading hunks hunker in fear; one of many eye-rollingly unrealistic clichés. The movie is fun enough on the whole, but it never lets you forget you’re watching a movie; a cash grab that speaks out against people “profiting off of” others. The irony.

audio review : Take Ya Time ( song ) … KRS-One ( featuring Freddie Foxxx )

KRS-One and Freddie Foxxx should’ve took their Time to make a better song. The verses, in which they have the nerve to brag about their skills and badmouth other (anonymous) rappers, are “lazy”. The same can be said for the beat; an amateurish production led by sloppy drums and a monotonous piano riff. The worst thing about the song though is the stupid hook.

video review : a CNN Presidential Debate [ 2024 June 27 ] : Joe Biden versus Donald Trump

video review : a CNN Presidential Debate [ 2024 June 27 ] : Joe Biden versus Donald Trump

Why Donald Trump would agree to a Debate on CNN; the most anti-Trump platform of them all; is beyond me. They stacked the deck in Joe Biden’s favor; not allowing an audience continues the illusion that he has a comparable fanbase thus was elected legitimately; but to no avail. Trump wins handily, thanks in part to the hosts remaining surprisingly objective.

Joe Biden is president. Donald Trump was president just before him. That means either way voters get to decide the next term based on recent experience. How Trump articulates the facts and exaggerations in comparison to his feeble opponent; Biden seriously seems to be in the early stages of dementia; is what makes him the easy victor in this Debate.

Roxanne Shanté or Tone Lōc : Whose Fatal Attraction song is better?

Roxanne Shanté or Tone Lōc : Whose Fatal Attraction song is better? Roxanne Shanté or Tone Lōc : Whose Fatal Attraction song is better?

These songs were inspired by Fatal Attraction; the 1987 movie starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close. Roxanne Shanté’s came two years later and Tone Lōc’s two years after that. Both are first-person accounts of romantic allure turned violent; the former playing the maddened mistress while the latter serves as a heartless casanova.

Roxanne Shanté tells her story in a more interesting way; her raps/verses are better composed and I prefer the vintage effect on her vocals; but her song gets rather lonely during the breaks. Tone Lōc’s (breaks) are enhanced by “baby” ad-libs and bits of said movie dialogue, which help make his (song) the more Attractive of the two.

my vote : Tone Lōc

Van Leeuwen French Ice Cream : Salted Chocolate Truffle

Van Leeuwen French Ice Cream : Salted Chocolate Truffle

“There’s brown sugar Ice Cream”, the carton reads, “but also these little Salted Chocolate Truffles with caramel inside.” Those candy bits are the best parts. Also included are “swirls of rich fudge.” It’s a sweet treat overall and among the better Ice Creams Van Leeuwen has to offer.
