Michael Angelo's Three Cheese Baked Ziti

This is “zita pasta smothered in a delicate cream sauce” with parmesan and white wine. That makes it a fancy alternative to plain macaroni and cheese. It’s also “topped with mozzarella and Romano”, which is where the Three Cheese theme comes into play.

You might think you made a blunder when it comes out a tad burnt until you notice there are also brown spots on the box photo. That adds to its “homemade taste”, which is damn good. My only complaint is the relatively large size of the ziti pieces.

Money Talks and so does Franklin; a wisecracking ticket scalper played by Chris Tucker. He’s the star of the show and easily the most entertaining thing about this movie, the plot of which has him partnering with LA news reporter James Russell.

It’s an action-packed adventure of sorts as the pair get chased not only by the police; Franklin is suspected of committing multiple homicides during a prison escape; but a gang of gun-toting bad guys who’ll kill anybody to get their stolen diamonds back.

audio review : Brilliant Classics music : Viotti [ Flute Quartets Opus 22 ]

Viotti was Italian, as is the Quartet covering him on this Brilliant Classics set, but it’s an old oil painting of Westminster Bridge that sets the scene. The composer, the liner notes tell us, resided in England when this opus was probably written.

The music, which goes from placid (Andante) to lively (Allegro) over the course of nearly an hour, sounds pleasant enough to my unchambered ears. It would certainly serve as a fitting backdrop as one paddles back in time to early 1800s Europe.

Espresso Monster : Vanilla Cream [ Triple Shot ]

“Italians are famous for artistic masterpieces, fast cars, fashion, beautiful women and the perfect espresso,” the can reads, “The latest trend is the Macchiato, a blend of strong espresso and milk.”

The milk is nice and smooth. It’s the strength of the Triple Shot of coffee, which, along with the milk, is apparently imported from Europe, that’s a tad overwhelming, at least during the aftertaste.
